Well, I rang in the new year with a party at the house and me coming down with some kind of “crud”!!! But alas 2014 goes on whether I am sick or not! When one is under the weather, planning a party can become a nightmare… it’s best to keep it simple…With meat, veggie and cheese platters, some dry rub chicken wings, fresh shrimp, teriyaki meatballs, pigs in a blanket, BBQ mini wienies and some cheesecake, brownies and cream puffs to round it all off — the party was a success! I made a beautiful vibrant raspberry/strawberry Margarita and we rang in the New Year with a hope and a prayer!
The other great thing about this kind of party– is the left overs — you see now I can take the meatballs, mix them with some of the left over veggies from the platter and spread over rice! Or make some french fries and reheat the chicken wings for a quick pub dinner! I will be honest there were no left overs of the desserts or the shrimp! I do believe I finished the last of the cream puffs…couldn’t let 3 little lonely puffs stay on the plate…
The chores are done, the fridge is full and the new year is rung in…I guess it’s time to start the yearly declutter of life! My office first! Talk to you cowgirls later!!!
