Well, home from Cali and time to change hats, from teacher (or entertainer) to skid steer operator, and now bookkeeper (my least favorite job on the ranch), but as I work in my office, I am filled with love as my 5 rug rats of dogs surround me curled on the floor, warming my feet and snoring a sweet lullaby.
I have decided that jack-of-all trades, master of nothing is truly my calling! I am a determined Buckarette and somehow find a way to get “shit” working for me. I can thank my dad for teaching me ways to be independent but not afraid to ask for help, once you have worked on the project. I can also say I am surrounded by the best friends a girl could want, from fellas to help me with lawnmower projects like Peter’s old friend Quinten, to one of my favorite, intelligent vet friends, Kari, that has spent many a night helping me doctor a milk cow from 1200 miles away.
I know we all live in a now world, but let’s not forget to give a friend a hug even if it’s a silly icon on our text. It can really brighten a day.
My brother once told me more thank you’s make the world go round a lot more smooth! And so, I thank all my cowgirls and cowboys for the never-ending love you show me, I thank all my horses and dogs for being the bestest BFFs a girl could ask for, and to my husband for taking care of me 100%. My hat is off to how hard you work to show the world what the horse is truly about, driving all those miles. You are one dedicated fella and I am grateful to have you!
Not that I am picking favorites, but my dear dear, funny, loving friend Kristine Brickey has been on my mind lately. She has just gotten her first book and she is one strong cowgirl that I have learned a lot from. We all have bruises and that’s what makes us who we are. I am glad she is sharing her wonderful novels and I hope there are many more.
